值此新年来临之际,我谨代表水利部党组,向全国水利系统的广大干部职工致以节日的问候和崇高的敬意！向始终关心支持水利事业的社会各界人士表示衷心的感谢！ 在过去的一年里,我们创造了“十五”的良好开局。2001年是实施“十五”计划的起始之年,在世界经济增长明显放缓的情况下,我国经济保持了快增长、高效益、低通胀的发展势头;北京申办2008年奥运会获得成功;亚太经合组织第九次领导人非正式会议等重要国际会议在我国成功举行;我国正式加入世界贸易组织,各项事业不断推进。
On the occasion of the New Year’s approaching, I hereby, on behalf of the party branch of the Ministry of Water Resources, extend my regards and lofty respect to the cadres and workers of the national water conservancy system! I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to people from all walks of life who are always concerned about and support the cause of water conservancy. In the past year, we have created a good start to the “10th five-year plan.” The year 2001 was the starting year for the implementation of the Tenth Five-Year Plan. With the marked slowdown in world economic growth, our economy maintained a momentum of rapid growth, high efficiency and low inflation. Beijing’s bid to host the 2008 Olympic Games was a success. The important international conference such as the ninth APEC Informal Leadership Meeting was successfully held in our country. China formally joined the World Trade Organization and various undertakings continued to advance.
