Objective To investigate the effect of early balance training on motor function and walking ability in stroke patients. Methods Sixty-six stroke patients with hemiplegia were randomly divided into treatment group (n = 40) and control group (n = 36). Both groups were treated by conventional rehabilitation therapy. The treatment group received balance training. Results The FAC FMA and FM in control group and treatment group were significantly higher than those before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The treatment group and the control group, no difference before treatment (P> 0.05), after treatment there was significant difference between the two groups (P <0.05). Conclusion Early stroke patients can improve the motor function and walking ability of lower extremity to a greater extent by using balance training on the basis of traditional rehabilitation.
