An AC voltage regulator that can work on the grid to deliver power, has excellent regulation and considerable power handling capability is achievable with the help of a negative feedback circuit to achieve high efficiency. With only a small amount of additional circuitry, the actual efficiency can easily be as high as 95% and the adjustment rate better than 0.02%. In order to illustrate this circuit, a prototype was manufactured.
