2006年5月列入首批国家级非物质文化遗产目录的昌黎地秧歌,是河北省最具代表性的三大民间舞种之一,历经千年艺术魅力不减,已经成为独具昌黎地方特色的文化品牌,被越来越多的人认识和喜爱。在昌黎地秧歌的发源地,民间长期流传着这样的说法:“饭不吃,酒不喝,不能不扭大秧歌!”“米不碾,面不磨,不能不看大秧歌!”如今,生活在依山临海的“花果之乡”昌黎的民众不必再为碾米磨面发愁,有了更多的消闲和娱乐方式,但却没有因此“冷落”昌黎地秧歌。相反,昌黎地秧歌越来越与时代合拍,越来越与社会同步,表演的内容更加丰富,形式更加多样,地域风味更加浓
