1索道用钢丝绳主要结构和运行方式以及缺陷检查客运索道钢丝绳主要分为“承载索”、“运载索”、“牵引索”、“平衡索”和“拉紧索”5种。钢丝绳主要结构有西鲁式、西鲁瓦林吞式、填充式和密封式等。由于支撑钢丝绳的托压索轮均有橡胶轮衬,因此钢丝绳的表面钢丝很少有磨损,钢丝绳主要由疲劳、内磨、锈蚀以及抱索器夹持力过大产生变形和断丝。由于索道用钢丝绳一般都比较长,如果采用人工方法检查钢丝绳缺陷,工作强度大,且不能客观检查出钢丝绳内、外部损伤。因此在“架空索道用钢丝绳检验和报废规范”中明确规定要定期对钢丝绳进行无损探伤。
