In the first half of 1936, in Shanghai, Lu Xun (1881-1936) talked with Feng Xuefeng (1903-1976), a poet and critic who often visited the apartment, about his own thoughts and life and views on various phenomena in the literary world. Lu Xun, a well-known novelist, published many masterpieces during his time in Beijing, but by the time of his arrival in Shanghai, his novels were very few and critics and readers placed great hopes on his novels. A few years ago, a Red Army general had visited Lu Xun and introduced him to the anti-enclaverance struggle in the base areas of Hubei, Henan and Anhui. Lu Xun was very interested in asking a lot of details and also collecting the topographic maps that the generals drew with ease.
