The wave of e-commerce, booming since the mid-1990s, has aroused widespread global concern. The impact of e-commerce on the national economy has become increasingly apparent. According to the latest survey by Gartner, a US information technology consulting firm, online transactions among global enterprises will increase substantially in the next five years. In 2000, the total amount of e-commerce among global enterprises reached 433 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 1.9 times over the previous year; it is expected to reach 919 billion U.S. dollars in 2001 and to 8.5 trillion U.S. dollars in 2005, accounting for about 10% of total global trade in goods and services between the same year. At present, the global economic development will force enterprises to pay more attention to the ratio of cost to output. The pressure of slowing economic growth will drive enterprises to seek ways to reduce costs early, such as the use of online purchasing and trading in online markets, etc., which is an important driving force for promoting the development of e-commerce among enterprises. The enormous market space owned by international trade is being regarded by more and more people as a booming place for e-commerce. However, foreign trade enterprises accustomed to traditional business operations are challenged by the new concept brought by e-commerce. So how exactly foreign trade enterprises to complete the transformation of e-commerce as soon as possible to win the international e-commerce opportunities, gain the upper hand in the international competition?
