English is the universal language of the world, and most native speakers of English are reluctant to learn another language because it is no longer necessary. It is understood that only about 25% of U.S. citizens use another language. In Australia, the figure is lower. In contrast, the use of bilingual communication by the European continent is more akin to conventions rather than exceptions. More than half of EU citizens speak bilinguals not just because they live in a country that has many official languages like Luxembourg. Even in France, France has only one official language, but most people speak a second language. This happens mainly due to the dominance of English in the world. In Europe, English is the most commonly learned language, and most bilingual learners do not spontaneously want to learn English but rather learn English for a certain need.
