有一句英文谚语说:“A picture isworth a thousand words(一图胜千言).”
There is an English proverb that says: “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Indeed, the pictures can bring direct and rich visual information, and words can not be said in a few words. However, in newspaper media, the news picture just needs explanation through words to convey the relevant information more abundantly. Studies have shown that in all the text of a newspaper, the reader’s attention to the caption is second only to the title of the article. It can be seen that the quality of the caption is directly related to the satisfaction of the readers and the quality of the newspaper. This article is intended to explore the characteristics and existing problems in the writing of the news reports of the English newspapers (the pictures of press articles purely for newspaper articles are often not illustrated with pictures, or only brief descriptions are not included in this article.)
