黄河调水调沙就是利用干支流水库群对进入下游的水沙关系进行调节和控制,塑造出相对协调的水沙关系,以充分发挥下游河道的输沙能力,遏制河槽萎缩、恢复并维持中水河槽.经多年研究,黄河水利委员会探索出了使下游河道不淤积的水沙关系,基于此种关系和黄河流域来水来沙条件,充分利用干支流水库,创立了基于小浪底水库单库调节为主、空间尺度水沙对接、干流水库群水沙联合调度的黄河调水调沙三种基本模式.按以上三种模式进行了10次调水调沙,结果:黄河下游800km长河道主河槽平均下降1.5m,最小过流能力由1800m3/s提高到4000m3/s.同时,河口三角洲生态系统得以恢复和改善.
