外语学习的合适年龄问题一直是英语早期教育的热门话题,语言学习关键期的存在与否是讨论的焦点,在实践中也颇具争议,成为英语教学理论当中争论最多的问题。根据年龄大小对第二语言学习曲线的影响,笔者结合我国英语教学的实践,对实际教学中的应对进行思考,认为学习的关键期理论并非是无懈可击的,学习年龄不是固定值,学习年龄合适与否并不会对英语学习起到决定性作用,虽然英语学习的成败受到年龄问题的制约,但事实上不同年龄段的学习者都有自己的独特优势,如何利用优势,走出教学误区,选择恰当的教程,合适的教法才是问题的关键。
