Objective To study the influencing factors of comfort of university libraries in northern China in winter and the incidence of building syndrome so as to provide basis for the health administration and environmental comfort evaluation of university libraries. Methods By means of site-specific monitoring and questionnaire survey, we investigated the comfort of people in different regions of China University of Mining and the incidence of building syndrome, and verified the evaluation criteria of building syndrome by EPA. Results 89.3% of the respondents indicated that they were satisfied with the overall environmental quality of the library. Of these, 36.2% said that the noise level was the most important factor affecting the comfort of the library, while 28.1% said that the air quality of the library was poor. Among the surveyed population, 32.4% showed signs of building syndrome. The prevalence of building syndrome in women was 58.9%, higher than that of men (41.1%). The physical conditions of the library estimated the SBS symptom risk temperature OR = 1.6, relative humidity OR = 2.2, and air quality OR = 2.2. Conclusion The correlation between temperature, relative humidity and air quality is high, building syndrome is more likely, and building syndrome is more likely to occur when the subjective feeling of library comfort is lower.
