人民调解是公共法律服务的重要组成部分,是维护社会和谐稳定的第一道防线。目前,全国共有近400万人民调解员,近80万个人民调解组织,遍布全国城乡社区,每年调解矛盾纠纷900余万件,有力维护了社会和谐稳定。广大人民调解员扎根基层,无私奉献,在平凡的岗位上作出了不平凡的业绩,得到了各级党委、政府和广大群众的充分认可与高度评价。据统计,全国选举产生的2287名党的十九大代表中,有20位是基层人民调解员—— People’s mediation is an important part of public legal services and the first line of defense for maintaining social harmony and stability. At present, there are nearly 4 million people mediators nationwide and nearly 800,000 people’s mediation organizations throughout the country’s urban and rural communities, mediating over 9 million conflicts and disputes each year, effectively safeguarding social harmony and stability. The majority of people’s mediators took root at grassroots level and made selfless dedication.
