Vitamin D is a fat-soluble nutrients necessary for the body, with the continuous improvement of science and technology, the role of vitamin D on human health gradually discovered. Studies have shown that vitamin D is not only related to a variety of bone metabolism-related diseases, and cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, infection, cancer, autoimmune diseases are closely related. In bone metabolism, the lack of vitamin D may lead to cartilage disease, rickets, osteoporosis, and even lead to the occurrence of acute falls and the formation of fractures, and parathyroid hormone (PTH) is the key to bone metabolism molecular. This review summarizes the metabolic processes of vitamin D and the diversity of vitamin D receptors and the relationship between vitamin D and parathyroid hormone (PTH) in order to explore the relationship between vitamin D and bone metabolism.
