引言ARPA网是一个包交换的数据网,它促进了资源共享和支持了分布式的数据处理。过去的八年中 ARPA 网及其派生的技术在数据通信方面有重要的影响。最近,IBM 公司宣布了系统网络体系(sNA),它是以满足相似的一些要求为其目标的。无疑地,SNA 也将会在未来的数据通信上有重要的影响。本文通过讨论用于支持进程到进程级通信的体系和协议的异同对上述两种网络概念进行比较。其目的就是提供有用的资料和鼓励分析不同的体系。后面还一般地介绍了鉴别数据网络的主要的特性和功能,并简要地讨论了在这两个网络体系中它们是如何完成的。对于 ARPA 网及SNA 的基本知识是要用到的,描述 ARPA 网的设计和实现的资料可参阅文献1~3,介绍体现在 SNA 中的概念可参阅文献4~8。
Introduction ARPA Network is a packet-switched data network that facilitates resource sharing and supports distributed data processing. The ARPA network and its derivative technologies have had a significant impact on data communications over the past eight years. Recently, IBM announced the System Network Architecture (sNA), which aims to meet similar requirements. Undoubtedly, SNA will also have a significant impact on future data communications. This article compares the two concepts described above by discussing the similarities and differences between the systems and protocols used to support process-to-process communication. Its purpose is to provide useful information and encourage the analysis of different systems. The general description of the main features and functions of the authentication data network is followed by a brief discussion of how they are done in both of these networked systems. For the basic knowledge of ARPA network and SNA is to be used to describe the design and implementation of ARPA network information can refer to the literature 1 to 3, introduced in the concept of SNA can refer to the literature 4 ~ 8.
