Recently, an international conference on the global health and environmental impacts of the abuse of amphetamine (Wmphetamines) psychostimulants was held at the WHO headquarters in Geneva. The four-day conference is an international long-term project initiated by the WHO Director-General, Dr. Nakajima. Its purpose is to help member countries formulate appropriate countermeasures, including appropriate prevention and treatment measures, to control the widespread use and misuse of psychostimulants for non-medical purposes. , as well as overuse issues for medical purposes in some parts of the world. Dr. Nakajima Hong pointed out in his opening statement that the world is increasingly concerned about substance abuse (including tobacco and alcohol). The abuse of amphetamine in this regard has made WHO particularly unsettled. Amphetamines and other similar psychostimulants are used throughout the world, and abuse of amphetamine is more widespread than cocaine and heroin in many countries. However, people’s health hazards and other problems caused by such psychostimulants are not fully realized.
