Le Clergy’s narrative is full of writing about dreams and dreams, which are two different literary images that reflect the different ways in which people view the world and the different relationships with the world. Dreams and dreams build an imaginary world as opposed to the real world, but to Leclazio, this non-real world is instead the real essence. Dreams mean the alienation between the characters and the world. It is a way for characters to escape the reality. And dreams are the way for characters to bear the pain of life, overcome the social alienation, and get the soul to rest. To a certain extent, Le Clerquez inherited the dream narrative tradition in literature since Romanticism. However, as a way of seeing and exiting, dream comes largely from eastern meditation and the influence and inspiration of Mexican Indian culture on the author.
