《借东风》这出戏是我的老师、著名京剧表演艺术家马连良先生的杰作之一。这出戏他演过千百场,在唱工方面凝聚了千锤百炼的功夫。这段唱腔比较集中地反映了马派的特色,影响广泛。最近,为了纪念马老师八十诞辰,我按照他一九五四年的录音整理出这份曲谱,提供马派艺术爱好者及同志们参考。马先生很重视运用传统程式,又不被程式所束缚。在继承的基础上不断地进行革新,进而发展了传统。《借东风》这出传统戏,本就具有很好的基础。为了适应时代的要求,他曾增改唱词,琢磨新腔,通过长期的舞台实践,获得了广大观众的批准,使这出戏焕发了新的光彩。这段唱腔成型后,他又作了多次局部的修改。这次刊登的版本中,已将“我算就了”改为“我料定了”;“我诸葛上坛台祝告上苍”改为“我诸葛假意儿祝告上苍”。虽是几个字的更改,却纠正了过去把诸葛亮神化和宣扬迷信的偏向。后期演出《赤壁之战》时,他又在唱词方面有所修改,唱腔也就根据词义、字声作了相应的修改,在此不作一一说明了。
