The Seventh International Conference on River Sediment and the Second International Symposium on Environmental Hydraulics was held in Hong Kong from December 16 to December 1998. The event is hosted by the International Sediment Training and Research Center and undertaken by the Department of Civil Engineering, The University of Hong Kong. Yellow River Conservancy Commission sent to the Yellow River Institute of Hydraulic Research Qi Pu as the head of the Yellow Academy of Sciences Zhang Longrong, Liang Guoting, Hou Suzhen and Hydrographic Bureau of Xu Jianhua as members of the delegation of the Yellow Council participated in the seminar
