The photothermal spectra (PDS) of C60 single crystal and thin film grown by vapor phase method, C60 single crystal grown by liquid phase method, single crystal of C60 and S compound were studied and compared with PDS of amorphous semiconductor. The optical bandgaps for various samples were determined using the Tauc formula. Urbach absorption edge is calculated. The weak absorption properties of C60 solid are discussed
