According to the dual signal theory of T cell activation [1], the use of immune genes to modify tumor cells to make them more immunogenic and antigen-presenting cell functions is one of the important strategies for tumor vaccine design. Recent studies have found that co-stimulatory molecules CD80 and CD86 play an important costimulatory role in inducing T cell-mediated anti-tumor immunity in vivo in vitro and in vivo in humans.
