Through the study of the distribution of major, rare earth elements and heavy metals in the core sediments of the Yellow River Estuary, the environmental significance of metal elements in coastal wetland sediments was discussed. The results show that most of the metal elements are distributed in a similar pattern with obvious low value around 40cm, which is mainly caused by the input of a large amount of terrestrial material brought by the Yellow River. Sediment grain size composition and organic matter content of the distribution of metal elements have a significant impact. In the constant elements, the trend of Na2O is opposite to that of other elements, which reflects the erosion of the coastal wetland by tides. The order of the single rare earth elements in the sediments of the Yellow River estuary is basically the same as that of the Yellow River sediments and the Bohai Sea sediments, and the total rare earth elements Which is higher than that of the Yellow River sediments but lower than that of the Bohai Sea sediments. It shows that the sediments of the Yellow River estuary have dual sources of sediment and seawater particles in the Yellow River estuary, while the changes of the ratio of light and heavy reflect the changes of the input of the materials. Under the influence of the clay content and clay content, the heavy metals in the fresh wetland sediments of the Yellow River estuary have been obviously enriched.
