In the northwestern part of Yunnan Province, there are the mountains, the Nu River, the Lancang River and the Jinsha River. Sanjiang are originated from the Tibetan Plateau Tanggula. Into Hengduan Mountains, then from north to south, within easy reach, and head to advance. They cross the Gaoligongshan, Nu Mountain, Yunling and other steep mountains, has been parallel to more than 170 kilometers, so called “Three Parallel Rivers.” This area is located in the junction of the Indian Plate and the Eurasian Plate. The Earth's movement caused the clashes and sliver plates to create the unique and singular geological landscape of “Three Parallel Rivers”, which is rare in the world.
