巴西鲷学名小口脂鲤,脂鲤属。是我国从巴西引进的一个淡水养殖新品种。其适应性强,生长速度快,食性广泛,抗病力强,易起捕,肉质细嫩,经济价值高,为一般养殖鱼类价格的2-3倍,具有很大的推广前景。巴西鲷属热水性鱼类,生活在水体的底层。它体侧扁, 体形与鲤、鲫鱼相似,体色银白,尾叉型,体长为体高的 3倍左右,成鱼一般长30 cm,胸、腹、臀鳍为红色,背鳍和尾鳍末端发红,中间在一脂鳍。巴西鲷为杂食性偏植物食性,对水质要求不高,耐低氧。pH值要求6.0- 7.5;临界温度上限39℃,下限为9℃,最佳生长水温为 26℃-30℃.水温低于20℃食欲下降;耐盐范围0‰- 8‰。
