黄永玉,1924年生于湖南省凤凰县,土家族人,受过小学和不完整的初级中学教育。16岁开始以绘画及木刻谋生,做过瓷场小工、小学教员、中学教员、家众教育馆员、剧团见习美术队员、报社编辑、电影编剧及中央美术学院教授、中国美术家协会副主席。黄永玉自学美术、文学,为一代“鬼才”,他设计的猴票和“酒鬼酒”包装家喻户晓。其人博学多识,诗书画俱佳,亦能写散文、小说、剧本,出版多种老祖宗画册,还有《永玉六记》、《吴世茫论坛》、《老婆呀,不要哭》、《这些忧郁的碎屑》、《沿着塞纳河到翡冷翠》《、太阳下的风景》《、无愁河的浪荡汉子》、《比我老的老头》等书。在澳大利亚、德国、意大利和中国内地、香港开过画展,其美术成就曾获意大利总司令奖,在海内外享誉甚高。 Huang Yongyu, born in 1924 in Fenghuang County, Hunan Province, Tujia people, has received primary and secondary primary school education.
