运营商已开始做出大胆尝试,让出了保持多年的产业核心地位和部分业务收入,取长补短平等地与OTT企业进行合作,虽然目前看来示范意义大于实际商业意义,但也是可嘉的一步。在运营商绞尽脑汁地忙于应对内部同行竞争之时,OTT业务的强势来袭又给运营商带来强大的外部压力。从2012年开始,以微信为代表的OTT迅速成长为运营商的强大对手,眼看着“企鹅”迅速长大,“土豪”运营商们再也坐不住了。2013年一整年,面对OTT业务的强势冲击,运营商明显表现的有些手忙脚乱。时而是剑拔弩张的对手,时而是合作共赢的伙伴,运营商与OTT的关系一直暧昧
Operators have begun to make bold attempts to give up the industry’s core position and some of its business revenue for many years and learn from each other on an equal basis with OTT enterprises. Although the demonstration now is more practical and commercial in nature, it is also a commendable step. While carriers are racked their brains to cope with internal peer competition, the strong assault on the OTT business has given operators a strong external pressure. Since 2012, OTT represented by WeChat has rapidly grown into a powerful rival to operators. As the “Penguin” grows rapidly, operators of “tycoons” can no longer sit still. In the whole year of 2013, in the face of the strong impact of OTT business, operators obviously showed some confusion. Sometimes a raucous opponent, sometimes a win-win cooperation partner, the relationship between carriers and OTT has been ambiguous
