铜类矿物药主要是指铜、铜的化合物及其加工品。铜类矿物药是矿物药的一个重要组成部分。早在《神农本草经》中就有石胆,即胆矾“主明目、目痛、金疮、诸痫痉、女子阴蚀痛、石淋、寒热、崩中下血,诸邪毒气”的记载。胆矾又名硫酸铜,含五个分子结晶水,亦称蓝矾,现代内服作催吐剂,外用治疗粘膜炎,亦用以治疗砂眼,与古之应用基本相同。我国第一部药典——《唐新修本草》载有:“赤铜屑以酢和如麦饭,袋盛,先刺腋下脉,去血封之,攻腋臭。又熬使极热,投酒中,服五合,日三,主(?)风反折。又烧赤铜五斤,内酒二斗中百遍,服同前,主贼风”。这是以金属铜直接内服与外用的最早文字记 Copper mineral medicines mainly refer to copper and copper compounds and their processed products.
