唐人楷书法度严谨,结体端庄,素来被视为楷法之典范。特别是颜真卿的楷书,如大臣冠剑,俨立庙堂,富有正大气象。它与张旭、怀素的草书共同代表了大唐帝国的繁华与鼎盛。然而,当下书坛,唐楷已经从最初的淡出展览到现在的完全退出,在预示着人们的审美观念发生巨大变化的同时,也预示着一个书法逐渐失去正大气象的特殊时代的到来。
