As a new discipline, teaching Chinese as a foreign language has never been valued by people in the world. With the continuous improvement of China’s international status, the channels for the exchange between China and foreign countries have been opened up and the scope of exchange broadened. As a result, there has been a worldwide “hot Chinese” and “hot” Chinese culture. On the one hand, this kind of change brought about the rapid development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in our country. On the other hand, the ever-rising popularity of “Chinese hot” and “Chinese cultural hot” also put forward a higher Claim. The traditional Chinese as a foreign language teaching centering on the function of language can no longer meet the needs of Chinese learners who desire to understand Chinese culture and communicate deeply. This article expounds the importance of Chinese culture in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
