In August 1989, The Henan Provincial Institute of Archaeology and Cultural Relics sav-aged the Riangdong site at Rangdong Town, Dengzhou City. It unearthed one Erlitou grave,15 ash pits , and a large number of pottery vessels and stone tools. The Erlitou culturor remainsof Rangdong can be divided into three perieds that correspond to phase , and of theErlitou Culture. This excavation throws new light on the contents of the Erlitou Culture at Nan-yang region and the southern limit of the distribution of Erlitou Culture.
