土工离心模型试验早在30年代,就在美苏两国萌芽,可是到70年代才引起广泛重视。目前苏、英、法、美、日、丹麦、捷克等国都有规模不等的土工离心机,共约70台。离心模型不但用于研究土静力学问题,也用于研究土动力学问题,如地震与爆炸等。现代离心模型已被称为土工物理模型试验的里程碑,可见其重要性。南京水利科学研究所为开展土工离心模型试验,在技术和设备等方面进行了有益的探索,并于82年进行了国内首次土工离心模型试验,为我国今后建置大型土工离心机奠定了基础,也为培训技术力量创造了条件。
The geotechnical centrifugal model test had sprouted in the United States and the Soviet Union as early as the 1930s, but it only attracted widespread attention in the 1970s. At present, there are geotechnical centrifuges of various sizes in countries including the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Japan, Denmark, and the Czech Republic. Centrifugal model is not only used to study the problem of soil statics, but also used to study soil dynamic problems such as earthquakes and explosions. The modern centrifugal model has been called a milestone in the geophysical model test, which shows its importance. The Nanjing Institute of Hydraulic Research carried out a useful exploration of geotechnical centrifugal model tests in terms of technology and equipment, and conducted the first domestic geotechnical centrifugal model test in 82 years, which laid the foundation for the future construction of a large geotechnical centrifuge in China. It also created conditions for training technical forces.
