由于各种工业和消费市场对电子信息显示迅速增长的要求,为满足这些需要,不断地对新老显示技术进行了研究。本文对几种重要的显示技术的最新进展进行了评论,其中包括阴极射线管,等离子板,电致发光,发光二极管,液晶,电致变色和电泳显示。对当前(1974—1979年内)在显示技术方面有突出进展的大多数文献进行了评论,同时也叙述了某些历史文献。本文向读者提供显示性能参数:亮度、分辨率、尺寸、响应速度以及每一种显示技术的主要器件的工作模式。文中讨论了在这些技术中由于材料所碰到的问题和限制。在可能的应用方面评价了这些技术的可能性及未来的动向。
Due to the rapid growth of electronic information in various industrial and consumer markets, new and old display technologies have been continuously studied to meet these needs. This article reviews recent advances in several important display technologies, including cathode ray tubes, plasma panels, electroluminescence, light-emitting diodes, liquid crystals, electrochromic and electrophoretic displays. Most of the current literature (1974-1979) highlighting advances in display technology was commented, along with some historical documents. This article provides the reader with display performance parameters: brightness, resolution, size, response speed, and operating mode of the major devices for each display technology. The paper discusses the problems and limitations encountered with these materials in these technologies. The possible applications and evaluation of the possibility of these technologies and future trends.
