中央音乐学院的刘月宁教授自幼学习扬琴,在演奏和教学上都取得了很大的成绩,但她并不满足于此。由于她较早接受了多元化的音乐教育,接触到世界各地的民族音乐,因此她具有广阔的音乐视野和独立、创新的音乐思维。早在她的硕士毕业音乐会上,除了中国的传统曲目外,她用扬琴与西方的弦乐四重奏合作了一曲《流水欢歌》,与交响乐团合作了一首《匈牙利大扬琴协奏曲》。2013年7月6日北京音乐厅举行的“中印之夜·刘月宁与印度音乐家新作品音乐会”上,刘月宁和她的外国音乐家朋友又为听众们带来了一场别开生面、耳目一性的音乐盛宴。整场音乐会新作品占2/3,其中,印度塔布拉鼓手韦杰·哥特创作并演奏的《拉格·节拍》,此曲中演绎了16种节拍,有时宛若潺潺溪在流淌,有时又像突然降临的 Professor Liu Yuening from the Central Conservatory of Music studied dulcimer from childhood and made great achievements both in performance and teaching, but she was not satisfied with it.
