加拿大是经济高度发达的国家之一,有着比较科学的交通运输系统。集装箱运输在加拿大交通运输中占有重要地位,铁路集装箱运输占总运量的10％左右,蒙特利尔和温哥华港集装箱年运量100多万TEU。加拿大集装箱运输不仅为本国经济服务,还以其东西直达优势和优质服务,承运了大量美国进出口集装箱运输量。 加拿大集装箱运输界最具代表性的是公——铁两用车系统(Road—Railer),这种技术成功地打破了公铁两种运输方式之间的界线。既具有卡车的装卸灵活性,又具有火车的长距离高速货运服务的高效率,还具有集装箱运输优点,实现了用一种车辆,用最简便的运输组织,提供门到门服务。
Canada is one of the most economically developed countries with a more scientific transport system. Container transport occupies an important position in Canadian transport.
