加拿大是经济高度发达的国家之一,有着比较科学的交通运输系统。集装箱运输在加拿大交通运输中占有重要地位,铁路集装箱运输占总运量的10%左右,蒙特利尔和温哥华港集装箱年运量100多万TEU。加拿大集装箱运输不仅为本国经济服务,还以其东西直达优势和优质服务,承运了大量美国进出口集装箱运输量。 加拿大集装箱运输界最具代表性的是公——铁两用车系统(Road—Railer),这种技术成功地打破了公铁两种运输方式之间的界线。既具有卡车的装卸灵活性,又具有火车的长距离高速货运服务的高效率,还具有集装箱运输优点,实现了用一种车辆,用最简便的运输组织,提供门到门服务。 Canada is one of the most economically developed countries with a more scientific transport system. Container transport occupies an important position in Canadian transport. Container transport by rail accounts for about 10% of the total volume. Container transport volume in Montreal and Vancouver reaches over 1 million TEU. Canada’s container shipping service not only serves its own economy but also provides direct and superior services to its customers and carries a large amount of U.S. import and export container shipments. The most representative of the container shipping industry in Canada is the Road-Railer system, which successfully broke the line between the two modes of transportation. Not only has the loading and unloading flexibility of the truck, but also has the high efficiency of the long-distance high-speed freight service of trains, and also has the advantages of container transportation, and realizes the door-to-door service with a kind of vehicle and the simplest transport organization.
