孔子前后两次欲应叛者公山弗扰、佛肸之召,有其特定的历史背景、社会处境、语言环境和真正的用意在。二子是乱臣之乱臣,他们的背叛多少带有否定之否定的性质,与一般乱臣贼子有别。孔子欲应其召,与《春秋》诛伐乱臣贼子的宗旨并不矛盾。《论语》中的两段相关记载,有其历史根据,生动地反映了当时现实中的孔子的所作所为,是难得的宝贵史料,无损于孔子的圣人形象,不能随意加以否定和刊除。
