1993年以来,武警部队遵照中央军委的决策,整顿了支队以下单位的生产经营活动。与此同时,从总部到支队大力发展农副业生产,狠抓“菜篮子工程”。1995年全部队产粮2033万公斤,产菜4166万公斤,产肉844万公斤,年增长率分别为6.3％、2.7％和8.9％,农副业生产总收益达1.5亿元,比1992年提高35.9％。目前已有59％的中队做到肉菜基本自给,全部队人均伙食费已达到每天补助0.6元左右,部分单位达到1元以上,为部队更好地履行职能,完成以执勤和处置突发事件为中心的各项任务,起到了有力的保障作用。
