The economy of the eight countries in South Asia is in a rising stage and is regarded as one of the top ten emerging markets in the world. In recent years, although the trade between China and South Asia has developed rapidly, its size is not large and needs to be further exploited. The eight South Asian countries include India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan and Afghanistan. The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation comprises of seven countries apart from Afghanistan. South Asian countries are basically agricultural countries. Agriculture accounts for a large proportion of the national economy of various countries. Industries are dominated by the textile industry and the roughing industry. Major machinery and equipment, electrical appliances, transportation tools and daily necessities are mostly needed import.
