Malarkey et al reported that under stress caused by cortisol (COR), β-endorphin (β-EP) concentration changes similar to the domestic less reported. To this end, we measured the plasma levels of β-EP and serum COP in 61 neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) and observed their clinical significance. The results are as follows. Subjects and methods A, object: From May 1996 to August 1997 admitted to our hospital neonatal ward HIE full-term children 61 cases, are in line with the 1989 Jinan meeting set neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy clinical diagnosis and Indexing standards. Mild group of 20 cases, moderate group of 19 cases, severe group of 22 cases, of which 7 cases of death were separately classified as death group. There were no significant differences in sex and weight between the case group and the control group in 30 healthy controls.
