After ten years of digestion, improvement and innovation, China’s water conservancy scientists and technicians have greatly reduced the construction cost of drip irrigation projects. The investment index is lower than that of sprinkler irrigation and lower than the traditional surface irrigation. According to Qiu Wenduo, a drip irrigation engineer at the Institute of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Research, drip irrigation projects abroad are costly, with an investment of about 600-700 yuan per mu, which is usually only used for cash crops with high output value. China introduced drip irrigation technology in 1974, with foreign equipment in Miyun, Zunhua pilot, due to the high cost of the project, failed to promote.
