板栗在双受精作用完成,初生胚乳细胞分裂一圈游离核后,不再继续分裂,合子(受精卵)发育所需有机物质未能从胚乳细胞中获得,不能发育成胚,有少数不能形成有效八核胚囊以及幼胚发育中途天折,造成空篷。试验表明,在板栗雌雄蕊原基分化期(4月中旬)、胚珠形成期(5月中旬)和双受精作用前后(6月中、下旬)的三个时期供给外源营养元素,能有效地控制空篷的发生。
