MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of non-coding single-stranded RNAs ranging in length from 18 to 23 nt that regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level by specifically binding to non-coding regions of target mRNAs. Mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) is closely related to the process of tumor. This review summarizes the recent progress of miRNAs involved in mTOR signaling pathway and their applications in oncology and explores the applications of miRNAs and their target genes in the diagnosis and treatment of tumors.
