Kisses generally have eight meanings, welcoming, good-bye, courtesy, reconciliation, admiration, love of father-in-law, and kisses of kissing beauties and kissing of Judas. For a long time, kisses were seen as symbols of Christian love and peace. Clergy included them in religious rites such as baptism, weddings, funerals and repentance. In the Middle Ages, kisses turn hostility between the two parties into opposites. The Duke of Russia kissed the cross when signing the treaty, and kissed the land of his homeland to defend the motherland. Rosters (11th-17th century) used to kiss kisses and icons. Therefore, the Russian proverb says: “Kiss the icons beforehand, and do not worry about food.”
