从厌氧氨氧化发现的历史开始,依次阐述厌氧氨氧化反应途径,厌氧氨氧化反应的分子生物学研究,厌氧氨氧化在全球氮循环中所起的作用,并介绍厌氧氨氧化反应的工程化应用,最终对厌氧氨氧化反应研究与应用中所存在的问题进行探讨。展望了厌氧氨氧化技术未来的发展,认为在微观方面,应尽快完成厌氧氨氧化细菌的基因组测序与建立模式菌株,深化分子生物学与生理生化研究;在宏观方面,探索自身最佳运行工艺,并与其他工艺结合,开发厌氧氨氧化集成工艺,克服本身缺点,尽快实现厌氧氨氧化反应的工业化推广应用。
