It demonstrates the influence of cultural differences on translation. This paper examines translation from the perspective of cultural studies, that is, studies on the “surface” and “deep” structures of culture and language. The influence of cultural differences on translation is discussed from several aspects, such as semantic association and image, understanding and thinking, metaphor and habitual expression.
