Chinese neo-humanist writers represented by Mei Guangdi both accepted the influence of Babbitt’s new humanism and inherited the traditional Chinese Confucianism to a certain extent. They advocated that by reasonably restricting the desire, through rationality To control the sensibility, to prevent perceptual indulgence and proliferation, to resist the alienation of material to human nature, and thus to achieve the best balance of human nature. Neo-humanistic writers’ thinking on human nature is reasonable and desirable, which is of positive significance to the development and construction of culture and literature in China as well as in the future.
