转录因子GATA家族是能与核酸共同序列(A/T)GATA(A/G)结合的细胞核转录因子,包括6个成员,即GATA-1、-2、-3、-4、-5和-6。1995年Huang等[1]通过筛查人类心脏cDNA文库首次克隆出人类GATA-4 cDNA,以后相继在人类肺、肝脏和小肠等器官中检测到GATA-4 mRNA和蛋白的表达。人们应用果蝇同源结构域(homeodomain,HD)寡核苷酸探针筛查果蝇cDNA文库,克隆出NK型同源盒基因,随后分离出一种与果蝇背侧血管/心脏发育密切相关的果蝇NK-2型基因tinman基因。GATA-4和NKx2-5是目前研究较多的与心脏发育密切相关的转录因子。
