Nervous system-specific proteins are proteins that are present in the brain or nervous tissue but absent or negligible in other organs and tissues, up to now dozens have been reported. Based on the fact that the highly differentiated erythrocytes and muscles contain specific proteins associated with their functions, hemoglobin and myoglobin, it is speculated that nervous system specific proteins may have some connection to their function in a highly differentiated nervous system; however, various proteins The specific role remains to be studied. The role of certain nervous system-specific proteins as molecular markers of cells is gaining widespread use.
