地面电阻率法作为地球物理方法的一部份能用来减少总的勘探成本和勘探后备基地的费用,这是指包括钻探在内的总的作用而言的,但就其成功的潜在能力来说,现在的勘探者不是视而不见就是一无所知。产生这种过失和无知的原因有二个:(1)用地面电法直接探测油气的前景问题。(2)根据电法得出的任何一种地球物理成果要比以正常方式表示的异常剖面复杂得多。因此,对成果进行解释需要经受专门教育或聘请顾问。电法直接探测油气从学术上讲似乎是不可能的,甚至在异常引起的现象确实存在时亦是如此。其困难在于:解释的异常类型用什么标准来度量它的效果?理论模型试验表明:
