上课伊始我问学生:“Have you ever got burnt by hot water? Have you ever bitten by a dog or a snake? What would you do if you find a person whose leg is bleeding? What would you do if you witness a traffic accident? What would you do if you see a person whose skin gets burnt? ”学生给出了多样的答案,我引导他们总结这单元的研究课题是“How to give first aids when accidents happen”.
第一组学生代表汇报如下:“According to our survey, about ten percent of the respondents have ever got burnt by hot water or steam. Two persons even have burnt seriously because of not knowing anything about first aids. If this happens to you or someone else around you, put the burnt areas under the tap for a few minutes if the burnt areas are not serious. Or cover the burnt areas with cool clean cloth. If the burnt areas are too serious, send the victim to hospital at once. ”
If someone is bleeding, stop bleeding using a bandage or a tape quickly. If it bleeds too seriously, you can use pressing way or send the victim to hospital at once.”
第四组的学生对“Dog bites”的汇报出乎我的意料:“When you got bitten by a dog, press the infected blood out of the skin as quickly as possible. Clean the bitten area and go to the hospital if necessary. But we can avoid being bitten by dogs. When you meet with a dog and the dog is barking to you, don’t be afraid, just keep calm and stop running. I think the dog will not bite you if you keep still. But if you run, the dog will run after you and bite you.”
