[South African Journal of Mining and Engineering, South Africa, August 1980] South Africa’s Sortex company has successfully developed a RM161-50 type radioactive separator for uranium recovery. This sorting machine has a great deal of processing capacity, capable of handling 120 tons of materials from 65 to 150 millimeters per hour, 50 tons per hour of materials from 25 to 65 millimeters, and processing of materials from 25 to 50 millimeters per hour. 40 tons, the price of each sorter is 500,000 rand. The RM161-50 sorter is based on the radioactive strength of the ore pellets. In some ore mines, gold and uranium are closely co-occurring, so the sorter can also be used to indicate gold content. The RM161-50 sorter uses about 20 tons of lead
